THE FIELD EXPEDIENT "BACKBAG"

Benchrest shooters have known and proved, for many years, that the first step towards getting maximum performance from any rifle is to make the shooting platform as steady as possible. This means using a front rest and a rear solid bag. This combination is fine on a a bench but not much use in a prone field environment when you may have to alter the height of your rifle from shot to shot or shoot up or downhill or, even, shooting laterally.

The Field Back Bag solves all these problems and is the modern equivalent of the sandbag. The 8"x10" nylon bag is loosely filled with approx 2.5lbs of plastic pellets which, unlike sand, will alter the weight and structure when wet or dry.. When compressed, either by hand or by the rifle, it forms a solid cup around the rifle butt and by squeezing the bag with the hand, micrometer like adjustment is available in almost any direction! The unique shape of the bag means it can be used as a front rest to protect your rifle when shooting over walls or resting on a vehicle. It can even become a rest for your spotting scope, telescope or rangefinder. One of the hardest things in rifle shooting is to "get comfortable". The Back Bag offers a greater physiological and psychological advantage which, in itself, means better shot to shot consistency and, as we all know "consistency equals accuracy"

THE SNIPERS' CHEEKPIECE - "The Original and still the best"

The Snipers' Cheekpiece is made from a combination of high density, shock resistant foam and water resistant, diving grade, Neoprene. The pad contains two shaped and patented inserts which, when correctly fitted to the rifle stock, will make contact with and cradle the cheek and jaw o f the shooter. Both inserts are angled from front to back and so, by moving the pad forwards or backwards along the comb of the rifle, the eye-line is raised above the axis of the bore which aids the use of optical devices and night vision equipment and makes shooting the rifle more comfortable.
The pad was originally designed for the US M40A1 SWS by Remington for Special Forces personnel who may be required to stay with their weapons for extended periods. The system is now produced in a "one size fits all" configuration to fit most full-stocked rifles/shotguns and will even fit some montecarlo stocks. Other versions include the Air Rifle Pad which is similar to the full bore model but which has a high density stamped foam magazine which will carry 21 pellets in 22,20 or 177 calibres/ The shotgun model is available in a non-iron sights or scoped version and has a 4  round 12g carry magazine.

Most rifles and shotguns are still produced with iron sights yet 95% of shooters now use a telescopic sight that raises the eye-line some 1.5 inches on the average gun which, in effect, destroys any consistency in your shooting. Once correctly fitted and positioned, the Cheekpiece will ensure that every time you shoulder your rifle, it will come to the same position every time you shoot. This will improve target acquisition speed and make the weapon more comfortable to shoot. After all, your firearm made be standard but humans come in an array of shapes and sizes.

THE TAC 2 SLING

It is said that, when properly used, a dedicated rifle sling can improve steadiness by as much as 40% to 60% - a dramatic improvement whether you are foxing, stalking or competition shooting.

The TAC 2 Sling comes in two pieces. Both are made from a tough 1.25 inch Military Spec. nylon webbing and are fitted with Uncle Mikes Q/D swivels with a thumb loop at mid-chest area. Either one will help prevent the rifle bouncing around and will keep it under control when on the move. There are two ?male' quick release, side-squeeze buckles and the sling is adjustable from about 12 inches from the top stud.

The second part of the sling is a 'biceps cuff' with one female, quick relase buckle that can be adjusted for tension and then secured with Velcro. The arm cuff can be placed above the bicep until required, or alternatively, sewn onto clothing. When necessary, the fore stock of the rifle is held with the weak hand and the other hand connects the male on the sling to the female on the cuff by simply pushing them together. Once the first male clip is set for standing/sitting, the second is already pre-set for use when shooting from the prone position! Once the two are connected, the final firing position can be assumed and, with practice, the whole process can be completed in under 5 seconds!
